Nashville Weekly Sales & Events – May 18-20

This week’s round up of sales and events is a little short, but there are some great deals waiting for you.

Demonbreun

Flavour – Flavour hosted a fun blogger event Wednesday night during their weekly Wine Down Wednesday event. That’s right every Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 you can grab a glass of wine and shop. One of the great perks of shopping your local boutiques is getting to know your shop owners! Aimee from Flavour Women (and Flavour Men) is super nice and she and her staff are there to help you find the perfect outfit.

Other things you need to know about Flavour…there is always a sale rack waiting for you in the back and there is always a selection of $99 denim!

I love this tote for Summer! These are just two of the colors it comes in (there’s even a stripe version) and it’s priced nicely at $75.

Flavour Men is the perfect place for your guy to shop for himself and relax while you shop the women’s boutique.

I’m a sucker for a good Goorin hat.

Flavour carries a nice selection of statement necklaces and jewelry.

Look what I found…It’s Cindy’s Object of Affection.

Green Hills

The Cosmetic Market – New items have been added to their sale racks! Visit them in The Hill Center, Cool Springs and Hillsboro Village.

Levy’s – Get ready for Memorial Day with these deals from Levy’s.

Woo Skincare & Cosmetics – More fun at Woo this Friday and Saturday with a Stella & Dot Trunk Show and another Bobbi Brown event.

Sylvan Park

Fabu – Need a gift for a recent grad? Fabu has you covered.

Have a fabulous weekend. Don’t forget to use the Boutiques page on your iPhone or Android phone to help you plan your shopping route this weekend. We’ll update it as we find more deals to share with you.

Happy Shopping!

Nashville Weekly Sales & Events – May 9-12

Nashville Weekly Sales & Events – May 9-12

It’s a big weekend in Nashville with Steeplechase on Saturday and Mother’s Day on Sunday. Which reminds me…did you get your Mom a present yet? Need some help? Cindy’s got you covered with her recent Object of Affection. If you’re still looking for that perfect gift or the perfect hat for Steeplechase, we’ve got some options for you.

East Nashville

Second Saturday – It’s Second Saturday time again and that means your favorite East Nashville retailers are open late (6-9:30pm) and will have special deals for you. Head over to the 1108 shops and visit our favorite GG’s, Moss and Alegria. DJ Heather Dryden will be spinning original vinyl from the Alley Kat days. Check out the Goodbuy Girl’s website for alternate routes into East Nashville. Don’t let that pesky construction keep you from having fun on the East side!

Green Hills

Levy’s – Let Levy’s help you with your Mother’s Day shopping and check out their Spring savings.

The Perfect Pair – Enter to win a fabulous gift bag!

Posh – You still have a few more days to take an additional 15% off sale items.

Ten Thousand Villages – If you’re not sure what to buy your Mom for Mother’s day, visit Ten Thousand Villages. They had so many incredibly unique (and handmade) pieces I had a hard time choosing for my mom. And you can feel even better about your purchase because Ten Thousand Villages is a fair trade retailer. Product sales help pay for food, education, healthcare and housing for artisans who would otherwise be unemployed or underemployed.

Woo Skincare and Cosmetics - There are more fantastic events coming up at Woo next week! Check out Sevier Skirts custom skirts where you can pick your own style and fabric! Custom made and local. Perfect. And don’t miss the Bobbi Brown Shimmer, Shine, Scent event featuring the new Miami Collection. For the record, I get a TON of compliments whenever I wear my Bobbi Brown Micah eyeshadow (it’s basically pressed silver glitter. It’s amazing).  And I can vouch for the long-wear collection to be truly long-wear. From the shadow to the liner, that product has staying power.

Sylvan Park

Fabu – Fabu is another great place to find the perfect gift for your Mom and your Steeplechase hat!

Online

whats-in-store – Friday is your last day to take advantage of this great whats-in-store online deal.

Have a fabulous weekend. Don’t forget to use the Boutiques page on your iPhone or Android phone to help you plan your shopping route this weekend.

Happy Steeplechase, Happy Shopping and most importantly Happy Mother’s Day!

Eloise O’More College of Design Student Fashion Show

Eloise O’More College of Design Student Fashion Show

This Friday, May 11, we get the opportunity to see the collections of a fresh crop of designers at the O’More College of Design Student Fashion Show at the Factory in Franklin. Twenty-five student designers will send their individual collections down the runway. This is the 14th annual Eloise Fashion Show and it’s the grand finale of Design Week, O’More College of Design’s premier annual event showcasing the emerging talent across the College’s four departments.

I’m particularly excited to see Megan Wilson’s collection called Re-Invintaged by Ventage Clothing. Megan was an integral member of our back of house team at Lexus Nashville Fashion Week and now we get to see her own collection! The press materials I received say that her collection “takes inspiration from two completely different cultural icons: Audrey Hepburn and singer-songwriter Pink. ln each piece she’s sending down the runway, Megan takes the classic style from a golden Hollywood era and marries it with a rock and roll vibe.”

“Megan found a common thread between Hepburn and Pink: the colors black and white. Many of the films the actress starred in were shot in black and white; rock and roll’s most prevalent color scheme is black and white. Because of this link, Megan’s collection is completely dominated by black and white fabrics. Megan used only natural fiber materials in her collection.”

We talked a little about her collection during Fashion Week and I can’t wait to see it in person! Visit the O’More College of Design website to see bios on all of the designers. Rest assured, there will be a lot of tweeting, tumbling, facebooking and instagramming that night!

Tickets are $35 and available online at omoorecollege.edu. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 615.794.4254 ext. 236. The show will be held in Liberty Hall at the Factory in Franklin. Seating begins at 7:15pm and the show starts at 8pm.

How To Wear It – Katherine Kidd

How To Wear It – Katherine Kidd

This week’s How To Wear It features Lexus Nashville Fashion Week alum, Katherine Kidd. I worked with Katherine’s and Gus Mayer’s teams back of house before their runway show this year. Her Fall/Winter 2012 collection was full of feminine dresses and separates with classic silhouettes that had a little edge. It was a beautiful collection. Katherine’s Spring collection is equally as feminine and classic as shown by the little white number The Lookbook chose for Fashion Friday. Here’s how Sierra from The Lookbook and I styled it. Click Sierra’s set to see the items she used.

Note the Stephen Webster earrings and ring in rose gold. Mizzie and I saw these pieces in person at a King Jewelers event on Friday and we’re obsessed!
