What’s In Her Bag – Natalie Hanson

She’s got four amazing kids, a rock star husband and a smile that makes you smile back.  This month’s “What’s in Her Bag” contributor is Natalie Hanson. The gorgeous mother of four, and wife of  Hanson member Taylor Hanson, shows us what’s inside her busy rock-n-roll Mom bag.  From the school run to a night out with friends Natalie takes us on a tour of  the items she carries with her as she navigates her very lovely life.

Purse full of items.

I am always looking for something that can function as a “motherload” carryall, yet, is chic enough that when I am out without the children, is not a dead giveaway of my day job!  This is the Mini Excursion bag by JW Hulme Co. I love its well-constructed, classic, made-for-using vibe.

I love tying scarfs on my bags! It’s an easy instant update. I inherited a beautiful scarf collection from my grandmother, so mine are also a sentimental touch. This one is a souvenir from Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas.

Kate Spade wallet, gold sunglasses and keys

The wallet I’d been using since high school recently bit the dust! While I miss the memories, this one makes looking forward a little easier as I am a big time Kate Spade fan and just about everything of theirs makes me smile.  My shades. The gold accents remind me of Elvis. TCB.

Snacks are a mommy must have for when we are out and about and in between meals.

munchkin zipper bags

My Pretty Little Things. Jo Malone perfume. They are so fun to mix and match and smell so fresh. The polish is Sparitual, Dreams Becoming Reality, my polish of the moment and, Thunder Road, my little girl’s current favorite. The lip gloss is Revlon Papaya. I tracked this color down after seeing Lucy Hale wearing it on the cover of Teen Vogue. It is my perfect summer shade!

Kindle and paper notebook

I love my Kindle! My current reads are The Help and A Love that Multiplies.  I always carry pen and paper for jotting down my lists, and it doubles as a tried and true child distraction technique.

Diaper Case

My mom-of-four status means I’ve been carrying diapers in my bag for 8 years now!  This also means I have burned out on carrying anything extra. This little pack is sturdy and carries several diapers and wipes, and it’s all I really need.

$400 for a purse? No big deal.

    • Cassandra says:

Well, I guess when you have the money, why not buy yourself a really awesome expensive purse? I definitely would.

    • April says:

Her husband Taylor doesn’t have a problem with her buying the bag, then why do fans have a problem with it? It’s really silly. She has a right to have nice things. Also Who’s to say she even spent 400 on the purse. She could have gotten as a gift.

      • Kay says:

Of course, if I had the money, I’d buy one too .. the comment was not meant to be a jealous jab or to be mean in anyway. I’m just saying I (along with another reader somewhere below) just assumed as most “what’s in her bag” posts/articles that are done allude to the idea that you can buy the same things celebs use. What a cute purse .. but alas, it’s $400. Interesting to see the contents but disappointed to learn I can’t afford what she has and there is no link to a knock off for a more affordable dupe!

Fabulous! Love the wallet…. and the keychain ;)

  3. alana says:

I think Natalie deserves a medal for carrying so few items in her purse given the fact that she has four young kids! I have way more random crap in my (not-nearly-as-cute) purse, and the only person I am responsible for is myself. (Bonus points for the super cute Kindle case) :)

  4. Jo says:

Natalie, make sure your wallet matches the purse ;)

  5. Andrea says:

Oh, I love the scarf idea!

Oh the bag/scarf idea is genius! I’m definitely gonna try that. The wallet is so cute, I’m a big Kate Spade fan too. I know it’s been said in other comments but Natalie is amazing. I commend her for putting up with so much craziness from (some) of her husbands fans. She’s beautiful in every single way, like Taylor. *_*

midwestern, wholesome, squeaky-clean style…weeeeee. and did anybody else notice that “a love that multiplies” is the book by the Duggars? yikes. also – i thought the whole point of this type of feature was to get some referrals for the products involved – I was genuinely interested in who made the snack bags and diaper bag…surprised to not find links here to that end.

  24. Brooke says:

I loved this! Natalie is such a wonderful role model and I really admire her dedication to her family. She always looks so cool and stylish and put together. Thanks for this!

    Stellashops–

I’m really loving Natalie’s bag and I’m actually in the market for a new fall purse with a similar style! Unfortunately, I’m back in school and working part time so money is tight and I can not do a bag that’s a few hundred dollars right now. Any suggestions on similar styles that are more affordable? I’ve been going crazy looking for a new bag like this for awhile (I had an idea in my head), saw this blog post, and thought “yes! Perfect!”. I’m going to cruise google since my malls and local Target stores have been no help thusfar. Any help would be wonderful (from anyone here). I’m looking for something this size and style that looks nice but may also double as a school bag. If I’m going to make my bag purchase, it needs to be the right one! I apologize for the lengthy entry and again, any help would be fantastic!!
